A Norwegian Cruise Line cruise ship passenger fell five stories on a cruise ship heading from Key West towards Miami and then on to Charleston, South Carolina.
The man fell from the 8th floor to the 3rd floor deck where he landed on wooden decking. The Miami Dade County Fire Department took him to the Jackson Memorial Hospital Trauma Center. The man fell just before 5 a.m. The Coast Guard says the cause of the accident has not yet been determined but they believe alcohol may have played a part.
When the rescuers arrived, the man was conscious. The extent of his injuries and his name have not been released. When authorities tried to take control of the situation, the man was apparently rather combative, according to one report.
