Early Monday morning, the crew of the USS McCain, a Navy guided-missile destroyer, noticed a South Korean ship on fire in the distance. The crew of the Sebong II, a fishing boat, had safely gotten off the vessel onto a life raft, and were floating near the burning ship. The USS McCain picked up the stranded fishermen and later delivered them to a South Korean Navy vessel.
None of the crew of the Sebong II were injured.
